ABOUT F.I.T
My name is Julie Barrett m.i.a.c.e and I own the above UK company known in Spain as F.I.T Dogs. Many of you know me, as I train my dog Rusty at Coin Dog Training owned and run by Sabrina Wrench. Coin Dog Training and FIT Dogs joined forces in July and now run The National Code courses to promote good Citizenship, dog socialisation and training, using kind modern reward based methods. Julie and Sabrina have many years of experience between them.
Julie is an Approved Instructor and Assessor for The Academy of Dog Trainers and Behaviourists, who in themselves are a Kennel Club listed education centre. Julie holds a City & Guilds in Canine Studies and passed the Federation of Dog Trainers and Canine Behaviourists, Canine Studies course (with merit), and has a 2nd grade from the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers which allows her to run the BIPDT ‘National Code’ in Spain. Three years in succession during the early 90’s Julie organised an annual ‘Super Dogs’ contest in conjunction with ‘Animal Magic’ to raise money for the RSPCA, and with the permission of Chief Inspector Ronald Dean trained Lancashire Police Dogs and their handlers in agility to enable them to take part against NW Rottweiler Club and the United Obedience Clubs of Blackpool. In the UK Julie first competed in Working Trails during 1985 then went on to compete regularly in Championship Obedience, and Agility with her dogs.
Sabrina who is a Director of Fun Instruction Training Ltd has been training dogs for nearly 18 years and has gained a wealth of knowledge from Iris of Woof Works who trained with the RSPCA in Hong Kong; Sabrina expanded her knowledge with Viv Eales and Diana Smart. The men from the ‘Mets’ Glyn and Ken gave her further insight into handling and training techniques. Sabrina then went on, to instructing classes in San Pedro, until opening her own Dog Training School. All those who attend Coin Dog Training will know Jaz, who under Sabrina’s training excelled in obedience and agility. Gaining many prizes at show’s held between Malaga and Gibraltar.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL CODE
The ‘National Code’ is owned and administered by THE BRITISH INSTITUTE OF PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINERS, and is an achievement for owners and their dogs to work towards.
The ‘National Code’ has 3 levels.........Bronze – Silver – Gold.
The AIM of the code is to encourage dog owners to train their dog in Basic Obedience. One of the purposes of the National Code is to show a dog can be trained to be well mannered and behaved in public places, making it pleasure to own.
The tests are designed to show that owners have trained their dog to every day situations and are as practical as possible.
Each level has a section on Responsible Ownership, The Law and Examination/grooming (health & care).
